How To Detect The Leakage Of Safety Y Capacitor

Apr. 10, 2023

The leakage of the safety Y capacitor can be detected by the following methods:

Static voltage test method: Apply a static voltage between the electrodes of the capacitor, and then measure the discharge curve of the capacitor. If the discharge curve of the capacitor is very stable, it indicates that the capacitor does not have leakage problems.

AC measurement method: Connect a sine wave power supply of a specific frequency to both ends of the capacitor, and use an AC resistance meter to measure the AC resistance value of the capacitor. If the AC resistance value of the capacitor exceeds a certain threshold, it indicates that the capacitor has a leakage problem.

Capacitor safety test method: put the capacitor into specific safety test equipment for testing to ensure that it meets the corresponding safety standards. This method can detect parameters such as leakage current and insulation resistance of capacitors to determine whether there is a leakage problem.

It should be noted that there is a certain leakage current in the safety Y capacitor, but it is acceptable within the specified range. If the leakage current of the capacitor exceeds the specified range, it should be replaced.
