The second factor is the allowable large current when the operating voltage is exceeded. When the PTC thermistor is required to perform the protection function, it is necessary to check whether there is a condition that allows the passage of large current in the circuit. Generally, it refers to the possibility of a short circuit. The large current value should be given in the data sheet. When used in excess of this value, the PTC thermistor may be damaged or fails earlier.
